19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former mentor Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court after March of the previous year.
Success also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at 21 distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my two daughters together, so to get a title is really nice," commented tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
His defensive approach and regular reactions on court had led some to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serve.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a decider.
Moutet defended four early-game break points in a competitive final set before the Russian won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
